Leaders of Lithuanian institutions positively report about their employees selected through centralized competitions
Civil Service Department has been organizing centralized competitions for the posts of heads of agencies and career civil servants since 2019. This recruiting method keeps being very highly trusted. In 2021 more than 86% of direct superiors assessed their newly hired public servants positively.
Civil Service Department under the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania together with governmental and municipal institutions while selecting career public servants and heads of public institutions, not only ensure transparent, smooth and effective organization of competitions, but also care about the feedback on how well the newly selected employees perform. In 2021 two questionnaires have been made in order to gather the data from direct superiors of newly selected employees regarding their performance reviews. The results demonstrated that more than 86% of direct superiors are satisfied with their employees hired through centralized competitions – they evaluated their job 7 or higher in a scale of 10 points.
Direct superiors who evaluated their newly hired public servants job positively (7-10 points) appreciated their initiative, motivation, susceptibility towards innovation, responsibility, excellent communication skills, fast and timely execution of assigned tasks.
79% of all direct superiors who participated in these questionnaires had participated themselves in the recruiting commision‘s job while selecting the candidates.
In 2020 87% of the interviewed superiors positively evaluated newly recruited public servants‘ job whereas in 2019 the evaluation score was 83%.
